Purpose of the Job
To provide operational business support in a timely manner, including:
- Control of the complete stores/warehouse function
- Goods Inwards
- Stock management
- Incoming and outgoing logistics
- To support other activities within the business as required/necessary
Main duties to be carried out
- Taking safe delivery of materials
- Offloading where necessary using Forklift Truck
- Storing of materials accurately and correctly
- FIFO principles and management of products with expiry date controls
- Accurate control of stock, including required inventory count activities
- Picking and kitting of parts against Production Order requirements
- Identification and timely communication of shortages
- Delivery of materials to metrology and build workstations
- Management of slow moving and obsolete stock
- Maintenance of warehouse areas using 5S principles
All aspects of accurate ERP control:
- Good Inwards Receipt including identification of issues/discrepancies
- Issue to Quality
- Put away to Stock
- Stock issues against Production Orders
- Stock issues against Sales Orders
Suitable and robust packing of materials finished materials for storage and despatch:
- Packing of Finished Goods
- Invoices/Packing List/EAD where applicable
- Completion of Transport Requests
- Booking with preferred carriersĀ
Other tasks:
- Support strategic, business, operational and departmental objectives as required in line with business plan objectives and targets
- Develop and work within policy and procedural departmental requirements (e.g. ISO9001)
- Organising collections as required either by carrier or using company vehicle
Qualifications and Experience required
- Strong operations/warehousing experience in automotive or a similar fast paced environment
- Experience of managing Import & Export activities UK, Europe and globally
- Pro-active, inventive, looks for continuous improvement
- Confident with ERP system operation, Microsoft Dynamics/Business Central
- Analytical and able to work effectively in a small team environment or on their own
- Self-starting, enthusiastic, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Skills and Capabilities required
- Professional approach when dealing with internal and external customers
- Strong communication, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail
- Flexible in their approach to workload and demands
- Capable and proficient in MS Office applications
- Understand the requirements of ISO9001
- Knowledge of COSHH
- Safe manual handling experience, competent Forklift Truck driver
- Full, clean Driving Licence
